What is the Getfit Wales project?
GetFit.Wales aims to increase physical activity levels for those individuals taking part on the project, reducing obesity, and making residents aware of the local services in the area in order to make positive changes to their social outlook and become more involved in community based activities.
What is the aim of Getfit Wales?
The aim of the platform is to encourage more people across Wales to achieve over the NHS Choices recommended 10,000 steps per day. As well as supporting the awareness of local community based activities such as local gyms, sport facilities and events – that can be redeemed as rewards.
How we helped?
As a digital agency we passionately support TechForGood related projects. Once we heard about the idea, we were keen to get involved and offered a heavy discount to Newydd Housing Association and partners.
We developed the platform from the ground up, to allow participants to setup their own profiles, link their Fitness trackers and set off on their fitness journey.
Local businesses were offered the opportunity to advertise a listing with redeemable digital vouchers – based on points earned by steps.
The platform not only encourages people to be more active and healthier, but also promotes digital inclusion and awareness of local community based venues.
